Scoliosis

There is an exciting new protocol through the Clear Institute that can reliably fix or reduce scoliosis using chiropractic care. The protocol combines spinal adjusting, new rehab technology, and concepts to

properly rehab a scoliosis patient back to a normal spine.

In most medical and radiology textbooks, scoliosis is defined as a

lateral curvature (a person's spine is crooked looking from the front)

of the spine measuring more than 10 degrees. When scoliosis is

diagnosed in early adolescence (usually females), it has a 40-80%

chance of becoming markedly worse. Many times bracing or invasive correction surgery is then required to limit the effects of excessive rib

cage distortions that can compromise normal functions of the heart

and lungs.

Often times, scoliosis is ignored or simply remains undetected

throughout most of a person's life, until finally the scoliosis places so

much stress on surrounding muscles that they are constantly in pain

or spasm. As a result, many people fail to receive the help they desperately need until it is much too late! Those who are young in

years, especially adolescents, are especially susceptible of being overlooked. Complaints of back or leg pain are common during

younger years and can be easily mistaken for "normal growing pains."

What are my options?

Unfortunately, most conservative treatments such as bracing, physical therapy or

traditional chiropractic have shown little success in the correction of scoliosis. With

so few known surgical alternatives for the scoliosis patient, there is no wonder why

so many practitioners within today's healthcare system ascribe to a "wait and see"

strategy. This passive approach (hands off) offers little more than continuous

monitoring of a progressive bad situation. However, here at the Advanced Spinal

Health, manual treatment has been combined with new forms of spinal rehabilitation

that many doctors have not yet even seen. In fact, Advanced Spinal Health is currently

the only clinic in the Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas area that can provide this

type of spinal rehabilitation. Armed with this treatment protocol, Advanced Spinal

Health is helping to correct scoliosis and many times assist individuals to avoid

bracing and/or invasive spinal surgery that typically must be repeated in time.
